Continuing with our bucket of water example, The following videos illustrate how the center of gravity affects the stability of a bucket of water when it is lifted. The video on the left, shows a bucket where the lift point is directly above the center of gravity, keeping the load stable as it is lifted. The video on the right, shows a bucket being lifted from a point to the right of the center of gravity, causing the bucket of water to shift, so that the lift point aligns with the center of gravity below. This makes the load unstable as it is lifted.
